Glenroy College is reopening to students. Here’s what you need to know.

Glenroy College is welcoming students back into classrooms from this week after the State Government brought forward plans to end lockdown and reopen schools.

Students in years 7, 10 and 11 will return to onsite learning at Glenroy College from this Friday (22 October). Year 12 VCAL students have already resumed classes at the College.

Covid-safe practices, including compulsory mask-wearing, regular cleaning and sanitisation of classrooms, and distancing rules, will be in place to protect the health and safety of staff and students. Vaccination against Covid isn’t compulsory for students, but is highly recommended.

A timetable has been worked out for the return of all students in coming days and weeks. Keep reading below to find out the schedule and requirements for your child’s year level.

Year 12

  • VCE students return to classes at school on Wednesday, 20 October but ONLY if students provide a negative test result from today 18/10 (day 13). This day will be a full day as VCE English/EAL students complete a practice exam in the afternoon.
  • VCE/VCAL celebration day Thursday, 21 October (no classes on Friday, 22 October).
  • Future visits to school by appointment only apart from VCE exams. English exam on Wednesday, 27 October.

Year 11

  • Resume full time back at school on Friday, 22 October.
  • Exams run on November 1, 3 and 4.
  • No classes on Friday, 5 November. Meetings as required for subject confirmation.
  • Year 12 Orientation November 8, 9 and 10.

Year 7

  • Resume full time back at school on Friday, 22 October.
  • Student free day on Monday, 1 November.

Year 10

  • Only at school on Friday, 22 October, Thursday, 28 October and Friday, 29 October. Remote learning on other days.
  • Further details will be provided about full time return which is dependent on 80% double vaccination.
  • Student free day on Monday, 1 November.

Year 8/9

  • Only at school on Tuesday, 26 October and Wednesday, 27 October. Remote learning on other days.
  • Further details will be provided about full time return which is dependent on 80% double vaccination.
  • Student free day on Monday, 1 November.
