If you have a teenager at Glenroy College who has come from overseas, you may already know that our new student arrivals are taught English as a Additional Language (EAL) to help them become comfortable and confident learners.
Well, good news. Parents and carers can now join an English as an Additional Language (EAL) class of their very own. The special class at Glenroy Neighbourhood Learning Centre is designed for parents of school-aged children.
The 19-week course will help improve your everyday English to give you confidence when dealing with teachers and other staff here at Glenroy College. It will also give you extra confidence to help your child with their school work.
Improve your English
The course will improve your reading, writing, listening, speaking and numeracy skills while helping you meet new people and find out more about your local community and the services available.. It will run for three hours on Thursday mornings from February 2022 at the Glenroy Neighbourhood Learning Centre in Cromwell St. Glenroy.
The government subsidises the course for people who are Australian citizens or who hold a permanent resident visa. This means that it will only cost $26 if you have a concession card or $42 for non-concession participants.
