Glenroy College staff and students will have someone very specific to thank when they gaze at the gorgeous covers of this year’s College planner.
The cover design of the 2023 Glenroy College planners is the work of one of our own talented students, Alishba Tauseef.
A painting of clouds and ice

Alishba’s eye-catching blue and white artwork was chosen to grace the covers of the planners used by all 480 students across Glenroy College’s junior and senior schools as well as the yearly planner for College staff.
The Year 11 student, who wants to be a neuro-psychologist when she finishes her studies, said it was a surprise to have her design chosen for the honour.
“I was very shocked at first but it’s a good memory to have,” Alishba said. “I was a little bit embarrassed to see people walking around with my art on their books, but now it makes me feel happy. I think people like it.
“I really, really love art but I don’t want to pursue it as a career. I think it will be a good hobby for me though. It’s such a good way to express yourself, to relax and get lost in your own world away from books and study.”
A student with talent

The acrylic on canvas painting, a polar scene of stark icy chasms contrasted with serene clouds, was completed as part of an art assessment task last year. Art teacher Jeff Saker said Alishba’s dramatic work was a stand-out choice for the cover.
“It shows a wonderful use of colour and tone and contrast. There’s a real feeling of depth in the piece. I really liked her technique and the use of equipment with the painting knife,” Mr Saker said. “I couldn’t think of a better work to demonstrate to this year’s students what they can achieve with some focus and concentration in the art room.”
