Alumni Association

The Glenroy College Alumni Association began in 2009 as a way to keep past students connected – to the school and to each other – and to show that Glenroy College is a school to be proud of.

The four founding members of our alumni association are passionate about what the school has to offer. They understand the challenges our current students face and they know how to inspire our students to achieve their best.

Alumni are invited to become part of our association to help create connections and opportunities for our students. This can include providing work experience and sharing career or study advice. New members are always welcome.

Dinner with the Principal

An annual alumni highlight is the ‘Dinner with the Principal’ event, first held in 2010. Current Year 12 students and teachers are invited to a dinner at the school with the principal, alumni and community partners. It’s a chance for alumni to advise and inspire our current senior students, who look forward to the event each year.

Past students interested in joining the Glenroy College Alumni Association or attending the next dinner are welcome to get in touch

Meet our alumni

Adrian Lee – Class of 2011

Adrian came to Glenroy College in 2009 and scored 96.25 for his ATAR in 2011. The Glenroy College Dux went on to study a Bachelor of Commerce at Monash University, majoring in accounting, business law and taxation.

“I would describe my education as very well-rounded at Glenroy College. Although I was only at the College for my final three years of high school, I had never encountered a greater bunch of dedicated teachers. In the final year of VCE, when nearly everyone’s focus is on attaining their desired ATAR result, the VCE teachers would go above and beyond to ensure that we reached our goals and even exceeded them,” Adrian said.

Rami Assafiri – Class of 2011

Rami came to Glenroy in 2009 and changed to VCAL from VCE in Year 12. While studying VCAL, he also completed his Certificate II in Sport and Recreation and his First Aid certificate. He enrolled in an Advanced Diploma of Justice at Kangan Batman TAFE after Year 12, with plans to join the Police Force.

“I loved everything at Glenroy College – the staff, the teachers, the friends, everyone was so kind and helpful,” Rami said. “My education at Glenroy College was a real education, I learned about real life and it really helped me in my future career. I would definitely recommend Glenroy College as a great place to learn.”
