Library

Glenroy College has a wonderful new library and resource centre that opened in 2021 for our staff and students.

The library embraces our College ethos of encouraging students to become lifetime learners and to develop a love of reading. Staff are committed to supporting the learning and reading needs of our students.

Housed in the new junior learning building, the library already has more than 5000 fiction and non-fiction books in its collection. New books are added each month and students are encouraged to make requests to our Library Manager Nikki Protyniak for particular titles or their favourite authors.

The fiction section is organised by genre to make it easier for students to browse the collection, which includes the latest middle grade and YA literature, graphic novels and a rapidly growing manga section.

Students in junior levels can borrow up to two books and senior students can borrow four books at a time. All loans are for three weeks and books can be renewed if needed. The Glenroy College library has its own website and online catalogue that students can use for research or to browse and reserve books. Students can access the catalogue and online resources via XUNO or the catalogue button below. Use your eduPass user name and password to log in.

(Tip: Your user name is the FIRST part of your school email address ie before the @schools.vic.edu.au)

The library is open every day before and after school and at lunchtimes for borrowing, browsing and study. Our Chess Club runs at lunchtime every Friday and a Book Club runs every second Monday. Students can also play quiet games during breaks. We encourage students to come in and find their next great read or get help with research and online projects.
