It’s that time again when Glenroy College takes a two week break to let staff and students recharge for a new term.

This term has been especially challenging for our College community, with extended lockdowns, curfews and other tough measures designed to stop the spread of the highly contagious Delta strain of Covid all taking their toll.

Thanks for your hard work

Our Assistant Principal team – Ms Deanne Clark, Mr Rod Ebbage and Ms Lidia Tizian – are impressed with the dedication of students who attended their online learning classes and worked to get tasks done.

“We would like to congratulate the students that worked hard and have been attending online learning. It has been a difficult and challenging time and we commend your efforts to stay connected with your teachers,” they said.

“Remember to stay safe and we look forward to being back at some stage next term. We will update the Year 12 students as soon as we receive more information. Take care.”

Get your Covid jab

Students are encouraged to book in for a Covid vaccination during the school holiday break. Here is a list of places in the local area where you can get a Pfizer vaccination.

Restrictions are set to ease in time for the holidays. From midnight on 17 September you are allowed to travel 10km from your home and spend up to four hours outdoors exercising. You can also meet outdoor with up to five people from two different households as long as all adults are fully vaccinated.

Plenty of fun activities to try

There are also lots of other activities happening in the local area, both online and outdoors, including cooking classes, movie screenings and footy clinics. Here are some things you might like to try during the September school holidays.

Look after your mental health

Take the time to meet a friend for a walk around your neighbourhood or a picnic in the park. But make sure to wear a mask and keep your distance from others.

Looking after your mental health is so important, especially as extended lockdowns have many of us feeling low. Here is some important information from our Wellbeing team for young people who might be struggling at the moment.

Enjoy the Spring break, stay safe and we will keep you posted about what learning will look like for Glenroy College students in Term 4 very soon.
