Year 10 student Alishba Tauseef has just added another impressive academic feather to her Glenroy College top student cap.

The hard-working student has won a year-long scholarship to learn the art of broadcasting at community network SYN, a radio and television broadcast service based at RMIT in Melbourne.

“I’m so excited,” Alishba said. “It’s such a great chance to see how the media works and to learn some new skills. I can’t wait to start.”

Alishba, who is also a Year 10 student leader, will receive media production training from SYN experts and will learn how to use studio equipment to create and broadcast podcasts and other shows. The scholarship, for young people aged under 25, aims to make the media more accessible for those from culturally diverse backgrounds.

The scholarship is the latest in a long line of accolades for Alishba. She recently received a $10,000 scholarship for high-achieving students from the Harding Miller Education Foundation.

Alishba also received a swag of awards from teachers for her hard work and dedication to her studies at the end of 2021.

Congratulations Alishba! We can’t wait to share news of your next success with our College community!
